Program Coordinator Welcome

Thank you for your interest in James Madison University’s BSN-DNP Program! The BSN-DNP program is for students who have completed their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and are seeking educational preparation for certification as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and to progress seamlessly to earning their DNP degree. We offer two different specialty concentrations: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Adult Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP).

Our program will thoroughly prepare you with the knowledge and advanced skill set necessary to lead nursing practice and positively impact patient outcomes from the highest levels. All BSN-DNP program graduates will demonstrate the competencies in The Essentials: Core Competencies for Professional Nursing Education by the American Association of Colleges of Nursing.

We have dedicated staff who will work closely with you to secure clinical sites and preceptors for all clinical rotations. We have nationally renowned, diverse and dedicated faculty – you can view their profiles by visiting Our People. I hope this website provides the information you need, but if not - please feel free to reach out to me at any time.

Kind regards,
Holly Buchanan, DNP, MS, RN, ANP-BC
